ritter6788's 75 gallon sps

Got home tonight and found one of my Nuclear Green Palys had a purple graft from the Purple Death palys next to it. Interesting that one of the polyps in the center of the colony grafted and not the palys that are touching each other. Tough to take a good photo under only blue leds but I think I got an ok shot to show how the polyp in the center has purple patches and streaks in it now.

The graft wasn't present the other day when I took a pic of the colonies.

Just an update/tracking post. I added some new pieces, Ice Fire Echinata, Candlelight Acro, Red branching Cyphastrea and a yellow Milli colony. I also added another koralia 4 (the old school ones!) to the back glass for more flow and everything is responding well to the change except the branching hammer. I need to frag that thing anyway. I was holding it for someone that moved last year and they never got it back. It was a 2 head frag and now it has at least 20 heads. Fastest growing LPS I ever saw. Everything is in the zone right now. I've hit a sweet spot in the tank and growth is taking off again.

Looking good man! Love the graft!

beautiful tank! I can only hope to have a reef that well balanced. I didn't see the invasive blue cloves though....had they already been irradicated by fire before these were taken? :fencing:

For those fans of Blue Clove Polyps...I don't apologize. :D I have fluke tabs in my possession and I will be nuking the tank tonight in an attempt to completely eradicate them. Once this is successful I will make the same treatment on my frag tank so no cloves can be transferred back in. Wish me luck!
OMG there that bad lol? Oo

Thanks for the compliments.

Here's a pic before I got rid of the cloves. The ordeal is posted in the thread somewhere. Evil little polyps!

The tank improved so much after the cloves where gone. I think they fight chemically also but that's just a guess.

Doing great so far. Scared to eat at first but picked at the rocks a lot. It is getting used to feeding and came right out for mysis tonight.

May I ask how you got your CBB to eat mysis? That is hands down my favorite fish but I'm scared to get one and starve it.

Nothing special. I ordered it from Divers den and it was eating mysis already. Only took about a month for it to eat out of my hand. Sadly it died about 3 months after I got it. Ate like a champ for 3 months then one day quit eating and died the next day. Still bummed about that one.

Man that sucks. It is such a beautiful fish. I just don't know if it's worth it from all the bad stories.

It's a gamble for sure. I'll likely try another but it won't be for a while. Maybe I'll stumble across one that has been in captivity for a while and snatch it up.

Looking good! What lights are you running right now?

Thanks Mallorie! Same old 120w Evolution leds. I'm about to hit 3 years with these lights.
