ritter6788's 75 gallon sps

The skimmer might be the best I've ever used. The build is for sure the best. It's built like a tank. I don't run the neck cleaner anymore. It worked fine but I needed the plug space for other things. It's not really needed IMO.

Good to hear! Following their recommendation, I ran the skimmer w/o the lid and the output at zero for around 36 hours, then put the lid on and turned the output to 100% for about 10 hours now. I am loving how micro the bubbles are and how they are that tiny all the way up the neck. I still have a ways until its really broken in though. I think I'll run the neckcleaner to start with after its broken in, but I have heard mixed reviews with them; some absolutely love and swear by them and others seem to think they have little effect. I've never had one until now, and am just happy to have a massive upgrade in skimmer from my aquaC-EV 180! And I finally got the cabinetry ordered so I can reorganize my electronic and setup the Apex that has been collecting dust. Thanks for your input, I think I made a wise choice picking Vertex as everyone seems to love them

Looks awesome man!

Some iphone pics with whites only on.

Thanks all! Took a few more today to track growth. Adding a few zoas to fill in spaces. I'm almost full on sps again.

This was a brown blob in the bottom of my tank I found when I broke it down last year for AEFW. It's one of my nicest Acros now. Not sure on the ID and the true colors are hard to photograph.

Dang Gabe, looking good! What's the second Acro in post 544? And the Maul type 2p Zoa in the last post?

Thanks! I'm not sure on the Acro. It's similar to Red Planet but more pink. It has the same green base though. The zoas are small utter chaos.

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Not the blue cloves!!!

Had these pop up on a Zoa frag I got recently. Hopefully I got them out in time and none spread.

The blue cloves are trying to haunt you!!!

Everything is looking good!! :)

I hate those things sooooo much. I had mine for almost a year before they started spreading though, any idea what triggers the spreading?

No. Mine did the same thing though. I had them about 3 years and one day they just blew up and went everywhere. I didn't risk adding them to the tank again. I had an extra fluke tab but it seems to have been lost.

I'm careful now, those fluke tabs are a little scarce these days.

The addition of a dedicated coral QT/frag tank has made life so much easier. I wouldn't run a reef tank without one now. I'm loving the maxspect razor over this frag tank. I'm really considering adding a couple over my display.
