Ritteri anemone won't attach

I put a rock in the basket and it's make no difference. I think it's going downhill, it seems weaker and smaller. I am probably going to try a cipro treatment. Since it's such a small anemone I am hoping I can use a 5 gallon bucket instead of a 10g tank. I already have all supplies just need to make some water.

Does anyone know how alk fluctuations will affect this species? I have lots of extra red Sea coral pro salt that I can use but it has a higher alk than what it is used to.

He doesnt look good...a 5 gallon pail will work fine as long as theres heat aeration and light. And if the alk is higher in the new mix i would just acclimate as normal.
I hope he pulls through...

So I moved him into the qt with cipro last night and by that time he looked even worse, his condition was very quickly deteriorating. This morning is no better. I am pretty sure he is not going to make it. I think I should have started cipro much earlier when he wasn't attaching to anything for a week.

Just keep running the Cipro until the course is done, or it melts not much you can do except follow protocol and pray. Good luck.

No but I later learned that I had some heavy metal issues in the tank from a piece of foil from frozen food.

I think mine is going to be that way too unless it attaches. Its on the sand right now, and I uprighted it.
I wish it would attach to anything

@Arvind Arya... Are you treating with Cipro? Is it in a QT tank?

I think I have a small piece of foil from the mysis shrimp in my sump , I added two packets of cuprisorb and will probly try tonight to get the dam piece out haha
