I thought I’d carry on my build thread started elsewhere which began like this:


I’ve just upgraded from a 70g which I set up all myself. Well this time I thought I’d do it properly and get in who really knows what he’s doing.

All of it set up and programmed in one day with the top up container outside. Water arriving tomorrow morning.

So after everything was filled up I went through a phase where the rocks were green. I added rowaphos but despite still having detectable phosphates everything has now turned red

I’m just being patient with this one as the tank is only 5 months old so I guess it’s still finding it’s feet. I’ve turned off the rowaphos to bring up the phosphates to be more balanced with the nitrates:

phosphates 0.1ppm
Nitrates 25ppm (or more - tricky to tell with salifert I find)
Alkalinity 7.7dkh
Calcium 375ppm
