Ever pluck the end off a probe trying to unplug it from the pc4 or even your phone?
The temp probe on a reef keeper I just bought came with the probes bus end pulled off, which I was aware of (discount!)
To keep the purchase within the range of the original cost I decided to try to reconnect the end. Didn't work, but...I had an old phone cable!
Luckily the red and white cable were present in the original head.
I matched the spots up on the phone cable and cut the extra wires short and left the 2 I needed long and stripped them for a connection
I simply twisted them together and e-taped it. I plugged it into the unit away from water and tested the ambient temp before submersing it in water. IT WORKED!
Now you don't need to dump money in new probes and you can get more stuff you want! Cheese burgers mmmm
