RKE and Reef Octopus VarioS 8

Hello. I would like to control my Reef Octopus VarioS 8 return pump using my RKE. My sump is a Trigger Systems Triton44 and the return pump will empty the return pump section even with the 'slow start'. I turn the return pump and circulation pumps off to feed, and currently have to turn the return pump all the way down upon startup and manually ramp back up to keep from having massive bubble storm in the tank. Will the RKE allow me to control the return pump to have a slower, more gradual startup? If so, what do I need?

It looks like the APC and DCI modules together will allow me to do this. Anyone have any experience with this? What kind of programming?

I think you need to looking into the cause of the return section running dry on pump start up. Sump water level too low? Return section undersized? Drain plumbing too slow on start up? Fix the cause dont bandaid a solution. Simply increasing the amount of water in the sump return section will do in some cases.
