I bought 4 PB4's what use to be PC4's, well I tried to connect to the RKE. The head unit doesn't recognize any of them. They are all current firmware updated. the head unit is updated too. My problem is when they are all attached the head unit doesn't show them. Every PB4 has the green light blinking, but no power, no blue lights on. Anyone have any ideas want is wrong? I have a call into DA but their CS stinks. You would think they would have someone to help. Also looked at the DA forums for the problem I'm having and I get lost. I found nothing.

Have you reset your head unit so things can sync up and register? If they're older PC4s, they may not work with the RKE.

PB4's for the archon, are they backward compatible? The PC4's work with the archon with an update. Reading on their website, I didn't see anything that said the new PB4's would work with the RKE.

Yes I have done a factory reset. I have PB4's not the PC4's. I'm replacing PC4's with PB4's.

The DA website shows the PB4 under RKE modules.

The thing is when I daisy chain everything together the Head Unit won't light up. The order I have them is Head Unit, SL2, MLC, SLX, PC1, PC1, And 4 PB'4s. The SLX, SL2, PC1's blink blue. All of the PB4's blink green with no outlet power to the channels,(no blue lights) and no power to the Head Unit. I have a Hub module plugged into an outlet. if I plug in the SL2, MLC and the Head Unit, they all light up and show up on the Head unit. If I unplug the power to the Hub everything goes out. When I try to add the SLX, PC1's and the PB4's everything just shuts down no power to anything. I don't know what else to try. In the mean time my tank is suffering. Got a second leave a message to DA. Hope they call today. I'm sure there's no one there over the weekend. Thanks everyone.

Your RKE head unit must be plugged into a PB4 first.

Ok, tried that's a no go, the head unit still won't work. Had another idea, maybe bus cables bad, well replaced all bus cables and it still won't work. You know what really gets me is a big company like DA not having support answering the phone. That's really frustrating. The idea help is out there and you can't get it?????????? How do I get thru to them??????

Try just the head unit and one PC4 only if you have a PC4. If not try it using just a PB4. This will rule out all other modules causing the issue. If it still doesn't work then it may be an issue with the head unit. I know a few have had issues with the buss connector. Try sending an email to DA support.

Tried with old PC4 still no power, the PC4 blinks orange, still no power to the Head Unit. E-mail out to DA. I stumped.

Now the Head Unit LCD screen is grey with black squares on it. Won't light up.

More than likely it is the buss connector on the back of the RKE head unit. Yes they sometimes respond faster with email. This is a RKEv2 and not the original with the cap sense keyboard? Only the RKEv2 and later will work on the 3.XX firmware.

Yes its the RKE v2

That is good. Did you update the firmware? If so then it might not have updated correctly. It updates in two parts did both updates go OK. If not sure try and update the head unit again and make sure. If it had an issue updating the secondary memory then you can update that by adding a powered PC4 in line with the head unit and then try the update again. It will give you a warning that the other module is connected. The secondary memory has to have a higher voltage to update. Some USB ports have an issue with this. This is also the memory that has the display information. Once it is updated correctly do a reset to factory defaults with it hooked to one Powered PC4. Once this is done it should wrk correctly. If you did not update the firmware then this may not be the issue but it might be worth a try. If you have any questions let me know.

The PB4 is the replacement for the PC4. I think the new systems have the PB4's now. The only issue with using the PB4 would be with the RKEv1. That will only work with firmware up to 2.06. Also if you have the latest PC4 firmware the PC4 will work on the Archon. The PC4 has not had a firmware update in several years though. Also the SLX module replaces the SL1 module. I think the new systems are also supplied with the SLX in place of the SL1 if the system has that module.

I was going to recommend just hooking up to your computer with your V2 cable and see if your get a firmware, correct, readout on it? I had to update mine twice before it worked my first time around.
