Sorry to regress to questions about an RKE. I'm new to controller use and have set this up to provide my system with basic functions. It works very well but I have questions starting with alarms.

I set up my float switches for ATO and programmed an alarm for the HI SUMP float that turns off the ATO and skimmer. I set notification of alarm to email only (I have a NET module). When I manually raised the HI SUMP float the ATO channel powered off and the skimmer shut down as programmed but I didn't receive an email notification. To my knowledge the email communication is set up in the NET Module. The head unit alarm icon was flashing and in the NETserver it shows an alarm for HI SUMP as active. I cleared the alarm in the head unit by doing a factory reset of the head unit for alarms only but the notification in NETserver is still there and of course it cleared all the alarms I programmed into the system (only 4 so no big deal to reprogram).

What am I doing wrong and what is the proper way to set up and clear alarms with the RKE? I have other questions but I'll start with this one first.

Thanks for the help.

I have a .netmodule too. And i figured it would just send the emails no prob. But the only way i got it to do it was simce verizon has dynamic ips was to sign up for a dyndns.com account to keep it available.

Yes I have a No-ip account to keep an active DDNS account. I can always access the NET module from outside the home so that isn't a problem. How do you reset your alarms when they are active?

If you do a factory reset on alarms it will erase all programmed alarms. You will have to reprogram all of your alarms. The factory reset just resets the item selected to the factory defaults. For alarms it clears all of your alarm programming. Hit the function key on the head unit to silence the alarm. The net module has to have you email settings setup in order to email you an alarm. Make sure and test it to make sure it works. The net email will not work with providers that require SSL.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason the email set dropped. I set it up again and tested it. It now works fine. But when does the alarm notification leave the home page of the Reefkeeper NET screen? How do you clear it from there? It's been several days since it showed up.

It has been awhile since I used the NET, but I think is like a log and dosent erase. I could be wrong on that. I use the Archon now and the NET module is not supported on that controller.

That makes sense. I think I had another alarm that eventually disappeared. I guess I'll ignore it for now. Thanks for the reply.

Can you tell me how many Standbys there are with the Archon? I'm trying to set up automation for my manual water change process and think the 4 standbys with the RKE aren't enough. Thanks.

There are 4. I have auto water change running and I do not use a standby. Why do you need a standby?

I don't have this automated yet. I have NSW in a storage container. When I do a water change I clean the sand bed when I drain the tank then refill from the NSW storage tank pumped to the display. I'd like to shut off my skimmer, circulation pumps and return pump then turn on the NSW mix tank. From there when I refill the display the return pump comes on followed by the circulation pumps and the skimmer. I'd also like to refill the NSW from my RODI using a float valve and solenoid valve. I'd suspend the heater and NSW mix pump until the NSW was refilled. I thought some of this had to go through standby's but maybe it is better set up with timers. I love the system but I'm still learning a lot about it. I appreciate the help.

The way I do it is to exchange a small portion three times a day. In my case it is about 1 1/4 cups each time for a 42 gallon tank. That does not clean any sand though. I use a timer and 2 DP1's that are calibrated to each other. I don't think you can use the DP1 with a RKE v1. They are dosing pumps.

So I guess even with the firmware updated to v2.xxx the DA dosing pumps wouldn't work on my system? I suppose I could use a BRS dosing pump connected to a PC4.

You may have to use 2 different timers if they cannot be calibrated to each other. The key is to add and remove the same amount each time. There will be a little drift over time.
