Well this is the 3rd PC4 that burns out the 1st outlet for the heater element.
I use a 500w titanium and I seem to get a little over a year before it burns out. This u the 3rd occurance of this issue. I even purchased an entire RKL system and the same thing.
Has anyone had a similar problem and was there a fix?

Thanks in advance

That is yucky! I also use the RKL, and the first outlet for my heater, which is now a 300W heater over the 500W that I had which failed last week. Has DA replaced warrantied any of these for you Dave? At almost $100 a pop that is not a cheap purchase every year.

I lost the first channel on two of my pc4's. Both of mine were used for a 300 w heater. I recently upgraded to an apex so I will see if I have the same problem. Two different heaters were used . They happened out of warranty . The pc4's seem to me like they are cheaply built .

I have an older RK2 and had similar problems. I added an expansion socket and run two 300 watt heaters off of this. It has its own powercord for the two sockets. Works great.

Mike honestly never tried. Always happens and the craziest hour/date/holiday so I just keep extra PC4s. Always more than 1yr :(
dA forum was posted and just noticed a reply so I am sure they will have some kind of insight (knock on wood)

If I included RK2 then x4. The extension socket interests me!?!?

I cannot afford the time for programming learning curve to switch to Apex (although, I am contemplating switch when the new tank goes up)
I have 2 complete RKLs and 5-6 PC4 (total) So if I sell them would almost cover the switch.

OK?!!?
Power back to PC4 #1 outlet, have element plugged in let's see and watch the temp!

So far so good!
Put in 2nd heater (not on RKL, not even on same circuit) for back up just in case.
Hindsight, I should of had one anyway :/
