RK's Pro Clear ProStar 230

I'm assuming my LFS is an authorized dealer. I really dont know about discount, I paid $3100 plus sales tax. I'm totally happy with my choice.
The water fill went as planned, dozens of trips from the basement with a bucket. Apex is running as good as I can figure it out. Totally unable to calibrate the salinity probe, its a joke.
I added a few Live rocks from my LFS and i noticed they have some type of organism on them, I'm still tryng to get a halfway decent picture to post. They look like tiny "ghost umbrellas". They seem sensitive to light, and I haven't seen a likeness comprable to reference. I hope its not something terrible.

just pulled one of the rocks because there was a centipede like creature boring into it. it didnt appear to have bristles, the body was brown and the legs were lighter almost white. the rock is chilling in some RODI now. this is the fun part right?

my "ghost umbrellas" are hard to get a picture of, when I shine a light on them they retract

Haha not exactly, the fun part is watching those critters shrivel up into the corner of the reservoir tub after dipping...if you're into watching that sort of thing lol.

Keep us updated with what happens, any pictures will help the best...sometimes you need to be a bit sneaky

Greta tank and show us this creature!!

the rock is sitting in a bucket of RODI, if it comes out, i'll have a pic

I replaced the rock in question back into the tank after 90 min or so in freshwater, it never emerged. It either relocated while I retrieved a bucket or it died inside the rock. Time will tell. I also discovered what I believe is likely a peanut worm living amongst the ghost umbrellas

Also, for others out there looking at the ProStars, we wanted to mention something for your safety. Be very wary when online sellers offer discounts on these tanks. We have talked with Pro Clear about this numerous times and they have recently cracked down about the tanks being listed at full value.

We believe that these tanks are pretty much already offered at a 20-30% discount all the time for their value to price point, and that was a main driver in the development of the ProStar - an upper echelon full aquarium system that is affordable enough to make the finer aspects of the hobby accessible to all different skills levels and budgets.

The main concern for you guys would be the full 3 Year Warranty protection. If tanks are purchased online below the value that Pro Clear sets, they are immediately voided of any and all warranty coverage. We just confirmed this with Pro Clear today (10/16/20).

We want to be open about the policies because both Pro Clear and ourselves don't want you to be caught in a bind because of the irresponsible actions of a seller. Pro Clear asks for original purchase receipts for warranty claims, so if any discounts were given it will be at their discretion as of what to do next.

If you see any sellers, authorized or unauthorized, listing online below everyone else's price, please do yourself and other hobbyists a massive service by talking with someone about it first before purchase. Whether it be us or Pro Clear or another authorized seller, we want to protect your investment in the long run. You're helping make other hobbyists more successful in the long run as well, so don't be afraid to speak up.

Thanks and happy tanking everyone! @Romeo Kilo how did the water fill go?
My two cents about purchasing from a reputable company: I recently bought a Pro Clear Peninsula 230 from Two Tides and included delivery to my basement. Tyler provided extraordinary service, coordinated delivery to my garage and then moving it to the basement. He kept in touch with me throughout the process and clarified all my newbie questions. I would certainly reach out to them if I had a need for another aquarium. Let's see how this one goes :)

Hey @MikeTheNewbie, it's Tyler with Two Tides. Greatly appreciate the shoutout brother, and yes it was a pleasure working with you. I've got to say...for a "newbie" you've got a pretty killer setup planned, and I think we're all excited to see how it turns out (especially that custom canopy you have planned for your Radions that matches the white stand). Keep us updated on your build thread!

I'm always open to chat with anyone about new or current tank plans, but yes let's get this one running first lol. Cheers and happy tanking my friend.

To Your Success,
Tyler Moon
