Hello,

After reading through some articles/websites, it seems that optimum psi for an ro/di system is 50-80psi. With that said, my holding tank is rated at 38 psi, and as soon as it begins to empty the pressure drops to 30psi. What would happen if I tried to use an ro/di system with this low pressure? Could I get away with 30psi? If not, what is the most affordable way to solve this problem?

Thank you for your time,

Misbar

While you can use 30PSI your RODI filter will not run anywhere near as efficient as it should. Lower water pressure means less pressure forcing water through the RO membrane itself. This means it won't be performing at it's best and you will be sending more water down your drain than you should. The best and cheapest way to rectify this issue is a booster pump. These cost around $150ish and should be installed after the sediment and carbon blocks but before the membrane.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. It is indeed well water.

I don't like the idea of wasting even more water, so I guess I will grab a booster pump while its on sale.

Thanks again,

Misbar
