To clarify looking for a small pump that can run dry( not in the container) to pump water to another container.

Does need to run continuously only on an as needed basis.

Finally added an auto shutoff valve to my container and now its kinda stationary lol.

Eheims hobby pumps can run external. They use them in calcium reactor applications all the time and they come in various gph sizes.

So did some looking online.
Anyone use the e-x-t 800 inline from cobalt aquatics? I use their heaters and a pump to power my bio pellet reactor, are these as reliable.
Other option i was thinking was a a mag drive pump, ive used them for years in far dirtier applications and they are rock solid ime.
A mag 7 would probably allow me to plumb through my attic the 50 feet to my fish room so slight bonus there.
