Not sure what is going on but as of recent my DI has been turning ornage or rather the lower half. I'm not sure if this is separation from not packing it tight or if its a sign of being used up. From what I've seen with others is that it starts at the bottom and goes up. I'm not too worried as I run a dual DI and have another dual DI after this set.

Some details about my RO/DI set up. I have a BRS 75GPD unit with a booster pump at 80psi, accoriding to @AZDesertRat this is ok. Another reason why I came up with the separation is because of my packing and the higher flow rating. Incoming TDS is around 120-130TDS and out of the RO is 1TDS, followed by 0TDS after the DI.

Mixed bed DI resin needs to be well mixed and packed very tightly. When you replace that one, make sure the resin is well blended then fill the cartridge to the top and tap it aggressively on the table or counter several times, top it off and repeat several times. Scrape the top off only enough so the foam donut ring fits compressed on top and screw the lid on. Cation and anion resins have different weights so will stratify if not packed properly.
