So I have the base AquaFX Barracuda. I also went and bought all the bells and whistles for it (Dual TDS Moniter, ASO, Float Valve and inline carbon taste and odor polisher for drinking water) Now I am looking at all these pieces and my mind is going a million miles a minute... what did I just get into... I am not a handy person AT ALL... I dunno what to do!! Who can explain this to me in the simplest of layman's terms??

Good luck!! I am not a handy person at all. I have found that the instructions that come with our equipment is lacking on the instructing part.

Thanks! And I won the main system at a reef convention raffle and then bought all the other parts... no instructions came with it.. I looked online and found a manual, but Ikea has easier instructions than that... :mad2:

If you send me some pictures of your unit I can tell you how to set it up. I have an aqua fx as well.

I have a Spectrapure. What I did is looked it up online and downloaded the schametics for that unit. Or you can call youLFS guy or gal and have them set it up

OK so here are all the components that I have... Dual line TDS meter with ASO and Float valve are on the left... And the water polisher for drinakble tap water with extra line and a T on it are on the right... what do I do?? :-)

Thats a pretty basic system should be fairly easy to figure out. Can you send a clearer picture of the inputs and out puts of the top of the unit?

OK so I tried it... and when I went to test it, the chambers with the sediment filter and carbon filter over flowed but they were on as tight as I could get them... any ideas?

Check and make sure there are O-rings around the sediment and carbon block canisters where they seal in the unit . Also did any water make it to the ro membrane meaning was there any pressure showing up on the pressure gauge.

Get on Spectrapures website and look in the Tech Support- Hook Up Diagrams section. They have clear drawings that show how to hook up anything you can imagine.
For you, you will want to install a tee, check valve and ball valve to seperate the RO/DI reef water from the RO only drinking water with the carbon filter on it, look at the drawing here for how to plumb the drinking water side and note the placement of the tee and check valve between the RO membrane and the DI filter. It will also clearly show you how to hook up the ASOV:

The diagram at the bottom here will show you how to hook up the float valve:
http://www.spectrapure.com/huds/ASO-SYS.pdf

Here is another drawing that shows both on the same system:

The dual inline TDS meter will have the IN probe mounted after the RO but before the DI and the OUT probe on the RO/DI treated water line so you can monitor the RO membrane and DI resin conditions.
