I have a 29 gallon reef only ( no fish) and am thinking about a RO/DI system. BUT.... I have no idea where to start. What is best for such a small tank? How do they work? TIA

I would check out the bulk reef supply videos and look into getting one of their units.

Essentially the way it works is your well water is filtered through the RODI system.
Now depending on how much water you make heavily does impact the type of system you would purchase.

Ive always purchased bigger units and use them for all top off, and mixing my own saltwater. My advice to you is you are better off mixing your own salt vs buying from the store you can never tell how often they change their filters.

Overall the kits are super easy to install and you shouldn’t have much trouble.

Check this out.

Feel free to post any follow-up questions or message me direct if you'd rather go that route.

This question will invite many opinios from users but industry bests are:

BRS
Typhoon air water and ice (one I use)
spectrapure
ICE Cap

I ordered aquatic life 4 stage off amazon. Finicky, have to play with the tightness of the seals on them before i got 0 TDS, if i could go back would purchase the 50 gpd 4 stage set up from BRS, really easy to use and foolproof/bulletproof image.jpg

TBH, you could get away with an RO Buddie that would do just fine from Amazon. Lots of names to pick, I went with the AquaticLife 75GPD 4 stage, has twist out filters that come off at an angle.

Cartridges are cost effective and they stand by their products. This is my second set and I have never had any leaks. This also comes with mounting hardware and auto shut off switch.
