RO/DI in operation...checking in with a few things to make sure

I have installed my RO/DI unit this evening. Install went super easy....no runs, no drips, no errors...

I have a BRS 4 stage RO/DI that I installed under a bathroom sink.

I fired the unit up with the top bypass valve open and let it run for a few minutes. I then closed the valve, where it then proceeded to fill the sediment cartridge, and carbon cartridges.

Now the questions, as this is my first RO/DI unit...

1. The pressure gauge on the RO/DI unit is staying pretty steady at around 90-95 psi. Is this a good thing, or is the pressure to high?

2. 'Good' water began flowing from the blue line, however, unlike the sediment and carbon cartridges, the DI cartridge isn't filling with water. I can see water trickle between the outer plastic housing and the inner filter, but at most, the cartridge is only filling less than 1/4 of the way, and this also fluctuates. Is this normal operation? Is this due to the high pressure in the system.

The TDS meter that comes with the system is registering 1-2 ppm IN and 0 ppm OUT, and I can't complain with those numbers. I just want to get a 'warm fuzzy' on the above two questions.

I take it you are using a pressure pump?
90-95 psi is pretty high. I have a pressure pump and keep it at about 87-88.
The di cartridge does not need to fill with water.
You can however burp it if you want by unscrewing the container ( while the unit is running) until it fills with water, and then tighten it.
I have never bothered to do this.

I may back the house pressure down a touch. I had previously amp'd it up for the sprinkler systems out front and in back.

I'm originally from around your neck of the woods, farther north, up in Lake Stevens. I miss rarely having to water the lawns!

On the plus-side related to this, I guess I can't complain about my quality of water. After about an hour of running (flush out recommendation) the meter is registering 0 ppm IN and 0 ppm OUT.
I'll go check it with the test strips now.
