RO/DI Inline Valve Question

I’m in the process of finishing up a mixing station, but had a question on whether adding a push connect inline ball valve after the spigot and before RO/DI system (red line) makes sense. OR if it would be redundant, and you would simply turn the spigot on/off every time you needed to make water. Would the ball valve handle the wear and tear of opening and closing better? I guess another question would be does adding the inline valve add another failure point and pose greater risk of flooding if a failure were to occur (I do have a float valve on the holding tank installed). Just trying to see what the pros and cons might be, or if I'm simply trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Mine is hooked up exactly like the picture.... except my adapter is white, not black.

I just turn the spigot on and off each time. you could add in a smart valve of some type if you wanted to automate the supply line for some reason.

My spigot does drip a bit when you turn it On and OFF each time. but its not an issue for me since this is all located in my basement, directly over my sump pump basin. Any drips just drip into my sump basin. Its also convenient for a drain for my RO/DI system.

You can get as crazy as you want with it. Mine is controlled with a aquasd electric solenoid off the water source before the rodi unit. Press the play button to make water. Booster pump is controlled by a 5lb pressure switch inline on the unit before the DI chambers. So the RODI water hits the sensor in my storage container, trips the solenoid to shut off the source water, pressure drops and the pressure solenoid closes to shut off the booster pump. No mess of water all over the floor. To make water again, press play and away we go.
Edit: the 5lb is just a pressure switch, not a solenoid. 1 wire connection inline on the power cord for the booster pump.
