I need to add a splitter (dual outlet) to my washing machine house faucet for my RO/DI setup. I’m assuming I can’t use brass fittings??

Can zinc be used or is all plastic preferable?

This is the part that I’m needing.

Before the RO unit is fine, that is the goal of the filters to remove any impurities. On the outlet is just where you need to pay attention.

I thought because brass was composed of copper there would be a risk of copper leaching into the system.

Is your home plumbed in PEX?
If not, theres more copper in the pipes than in the brass fitting.

But if supplying water to an RODI system, you could use a rusty metal straw and it wouldnt care much :)

The only real water quality issues you need to worry about is if your water contains chloramines or not as well as the c02 content.
Psi as well :)
