Is it safe to use copper or Galvanized pipe for the outlet of a RO/DI pressure tank? It is no where near the reef tank. I have been using PVC which eventually got brittle then...... I used some vocabulary I normally don’t.

The RoDi removes everything. I have mine hooked up to a copper line

Depends on the location of the tank.

Storing DeIonized water in a pressure tank is normally seen as a negative. DeIonized water will leach from just about anything it comes into contact with.

Storing Reverse Osmosis water, on the other hand, is fairly common. Will it leach from metals and so forth? Maybe... but passing the water through a DI system on it's way to the tank is likely to filter out anything it picked up in storage.

Most home/reef systems work this way. Incoming water is passed through sediment, carbon... and the RO membrane, at which point it's 'T'd. One line to a pressure tank, and one to your DI, and eventually, your reef. From the storage tank, you'd feed a drinking water faucet, ice maker, etc. There is typically a back flow valve in line running to the storage tank, so that opening your DI outlet at the tank doesn't empty your drinking water storage.

Mine works this way, and I'm very happy with it.

If your pressure tank is before your DI system, then I wouldn't sweat a stainless valve.

If it's after, I'd recommend moving it, regardless of the pressure tank valve.
