Hey there
A bit puzzled with my ro di booster pump. Bought an aquatech 6800, and trying to install it like the instructions said to but I think my flood guardian is causing some issues.

booster says to install pump at inlet side before everything. Got that.
then it says install solenoid between filters and membrane. That’s where my flood guardian is at as well. Read somewhere to put it before flood guardian but when I do the pump won’t come on. Took off the booster solenoid and the pump works fine. Goes from 50 psi to 75 psi.

must be the placement of the booster solenoid? Where else would it go?
Thx

Not sure what a flood guardian is, but I have always put the booster pump between the prefilters and the RO.

The flood guardian is a auto shut off for my ro tanks when they get full. It has a solenoid for the shut off but so does the booster pump.

Need the big guns for this one i'm afraid.

Rather than the Reef Squad, who may be able to help, how about @Buckeye Hydro who are RO/DI experts. They have been a huge help to me with an unusual RO/DI system, so I have great trust for their advice.

Ah, ok …. just wasn't familiar with the actual guardian unit. I have an emergency shutoff solenoid for my RODI (controlled by apex), but it's right at the initial water source - so before all modules. That would seem like a better place for the guardian solenoid. I put the pressure switch for my booster pump after all the modules and right before the final switch that closes when the reservoir is full.

If memory serves, there is a pressure adjustment screw on the booter pump shut off. Perhaps you have too much stuff after the switch ansd you need to increase the setpoint.

Sorry i didnt realize that was an option! hate to call in the special forces guys just for a simple issue but i cant find it anywhere and now i cant get the ro unit to work..lol thx

Thanks CA, i will give that a shot with the adjustment thing. Just found that on another video. It says to really not mess with it if possible. The guardian says to put the shutoff after filters and before ro membrane but this is exactly where the booster unit wants it too.

Don't get me wrong. Calling in the Reef Squad is always an idea worth trying. We are here to try and help. I just figured that since Buckeye Hydro does help out here, maybe they could help.

Good luck.

The directions say to install the booster pump pressure switch in the line carrying your product water and if there is an auto cutoff switch to install it after the cutoff switch.

I did read that salty, the only problem is that putting the auto shutoff after the guardian shutoff turns off the water flow but NOT the booster pump. not sure how to get both to turn off is the issue i think.

That makes sense. That instruction didn't make sense to me either. Have you tried the booster pump switch before the auto shutoff?

I have a simple float valve in my reservoir and the problem I have is the pressure switch won't turn off the booster pump.

Yes...that's how BRS and a couple others put it together but they also didn't have another switch right after it. Essentially I have 2 shutoffs back to back. We know that before the guardian shutoff doesn't work...maybe I'll try putting it on after the room membrane.
At the moment I'm keeping the booster solenoid off so i can get the benefits of the booster and make my initial water for my 200G DT.

Having similar issues. Any fixes?
