I believe I have the same unit. I usually have to replace my DI resins every other time I change my Prefilters and carbon block.

I changed my RO filter after my second DI change, and was told I probably didn't need to yet, but wanted to err on the side of caution.

Personally, I would only use SpectraPure filters and media in a SpectraPure filter. They have the best quality control, and the best rejection rate I have found. I do admit to being spoiled, as they are located in Tempe, which is only about a 35 mile drive from my house, and always happy to answer my questions, or get me what I need.

I would, as suggested above, stick with spectrapure filters.

I also suggest when you can to get the washable sediment filter.
It will help longevity of the rest.

just to support what others say. i change my ro membrane only when my tds coming out of it gets high. i get about 14tds before di resin on a new one. when the ro filter is bad you will start going through di resin really fast. they can last about 3 years

Tisk tisk

Replace sediment when pressure drops by more than 5%

Replace DI when you have a TDS reading

Replace carbon when you have detected chlorines in your waste water

Replace membrane when it is no longer performing the correct rejection rate. For that you will have to refer to the chart. Find your psi, and temp and then check your rejection rate. If it is within 2-3% of the chart you do not need to change it.

If you are using any other method to change filters then you could either be wasting money or making terrible water and/or both.

Spectrapure ROs are just rebranded DOWs than have been "treated" which is nothing more than wetting the filter.

But hey, what do I know. Doesn't matter just get a filter if you need it, and make sure you know when you do or you don't.

For most people I am willing to bet that their membranes will outlast their interest in the hobby. When taken care of they can last years, many years.
