I’m running a BRS 7 stage unit. The TDS numbers are 4, 2, and last one is cycling between 1 and 2. I’ve probably made about 300- 400 gallons of RO-DI water since I started using it.

when do most folks start swapping out filters. Is there a TDS number you key on or is it so many months or the filters start looking dirty. My first sediment filter is starting to look a bit used.

I change DI resin when TDS out is above 0.
I swap the prefilters every 6 months.
Membrane is on a 2 year cycle.

I set the system up in March, so that puts me right at 6 months. Guess it’s time to make an order.

I change my sediments when they get brown. A little darker than yours. I move the second sediment filter to the first canister and add a new one in its place.
When my pressure drops 10 psi I replace the carbon filter.
I replace my ro filters every 2 years. My filtered water is always a TDS of 0 to 1. I only replace the mixed bed when it all changes color.
Since im on rain water and incomming TDs is 15 to 20 I dont use much resin
Also amazon sells sediment filters cheap.
I make about 65 gallons per week for water changes and evaporation

Yeah, I think our water supply here in The Villages is not the best. Where I used to live, I would well go over a year before the TDS got above zero. I’m using more water now, so that probably shortens the life of them As well. My Top off is about a gallon a day, auto water change is two gallons a day and other needs like QT and cleaning. Not so concerned about the cost. Just want really clean water.

Note: Its reported that osme cheap carbon filters leave a funny taste to drinking water. I would spend more on a good one BRS or the Pentair Omni.

Hi, can anyone help please i have a 4 stage RO/DI setup and i am getting TDS reading at 3ppm after going through DI Resin. To give more details, incoming water is mains water at 3.5 bar. First stage is sediment filter (just replaced), second stage Carbon (also replaced), membrane, then finally DI. i cannot seem to get Zero on the system. I resisted the TDS inline to before the DI and i get a reading which fluctuates between 6 and 3, incoming reads 325ppm. Is the DI resin depleted or is the membrane trashed as well? Sorry i meant to say all TDI readings taken after 20 mins of running.

do i need to add anything to my set up.

Thanks
