Background:

I have a Bulk Reef Supply 75 GPD Four Stage RO/DI System...

I recently moved to a new house, and brought my system with me. The old house always read 0 on the TDS meter for outlet water, and around 7 for inlet. My new house (8 miles away) is having some issues. When I first moved in the water was rusty because the pipes hadn't been ran with anything for a few months. We cleaned them out completely by running water for about half a day. One day I had my system running and it got rained on (sucks I know) so I had to replace the TDS meter. I then starting running water and I get outrageous read outs like ~90+ but on average it stays around ~20-40. This system is less than 8 months old, so I replaced the filters thinking it could of been leftover grime from the pipes. No luck. I then forgot about the RO/DI membrane, so I replaced that AND all the filters again. Still no luck. I bought all new sensors (installed correctly with the pins facing the right direction)

Although I've been using this water, with no issues (aside from diatoms on my glass) I'm still concerned, I want my tank to be the best it can be. I have some WWC Pink Prostata and WWC Superman Monti's that look fine, great polyp extension with some decent growth as well. Everything seems to be doing fine, my rainbow BTA is huge, and fish are all great.

Why am I getting such bad readings? What could be causing this? Is the water quality just terrible out at my new house? How am I ever going to reef at home with this high of TDS?

Thanks a lot guys,

Manners

What kind of water pressure are you getting? That can make a big difference on the efficiency of your membrane

I'd say good chance the pressure is the issue. Anybody you know have a booster pump you could borrow to test?

Yeah I hear ya! Especially when nobody can say for certainty if its the problem. I can't think of anything else it could be... and pressure makes sense. I'm sure if it doesn't work you'll be able to return it though unlike a filter.

Yeah possibly, thanks for the advice man.
