I have the 150gpd BRS rodi system but it only seems to be producing 100 gallons per day. I contacted them and they said that it's possibly due to temperature and that colder water have less output. I've read somewhere that tapping into the hot water may be bad for the RO/DI unit or filters. Anyone else have the same issue, or know if hot water is bad for the system?

Many things affect your total Gpd output and one major one is the the temp of the water coming in. Yes Hot water will destroy your Membranes it is not a good idea to try it. If you Google " What affects GPD of RO units " you should get a lot of info that will tell you why.

BRS recently did a BRSInvestigates video on this on their Youtube channel about everything that can affect the performance of RODI units and membranes. Might be worth searching that and having a watch!

Thanks! Just watched the video. The only thing I can think of that is slowing the production is the temperature and I don't think it's that cold. 150gpd producing 100 gpd at 60 psi seems like such a big difference.

Anyone else having similar slow production rate with BRS rodi systems?

Perfect conditions would 77 F groundwater input with less than 250 ppm TDS on input and min. 65 psi. There are lots of info on the net. and for you to be complaining of 100 Gal. from 150 Gal unit is quite unreasonable. Between Water Temp and psi. is what seem to make the biggest difference. If you search you will find graphs and charts that will show you just how quickly your Gal/day drop for every degree in temp. drops and the lower it comes the larger the drop. One example, as the water becomes cold the micro holes in the Membrane shrink and less water is able to pass thru it, so bang gal/day drops.
