RO/DI System??

Tested the RO/DI water from one lfs that I picked up to cycle the rock. In a container I'd been using years ago for the old tanks and after sitting for 5 years, the water tested at .005 ppm. Not too bad in my book. Gonna try more places and test this place at the source. Just thought id fill u in

Yup.. I tested random places with my new toys too, my reservoir tested at .001 so I'm happy with it as well! I'm using a 4 stage spectrapure RO/DI. I love it so far - and wasn't expensive at all, nice 15% off replacement filters with marinedepot.com for life from buying through them ;)

There are no decimal points with most handheld TDS meters, what looks like a dot is a power ON indicator so the readings are really 5, 1, 175 etc. One exception to that is the HM Digital COM-100 which reads to one decimal point so like 175.3. My tap water is 585, my RO only runs between 2 and 3 and both DI cartridges read 0.

Yeah I was at work so I didn't have the meter with me - you're right, no decimal it just reads 001 :)
