Hello everyone, I am new to this hobby and doing some research about RO-DI water system. Just wondering if I am able to use a home drinking water RO-DI system which I paid well over $500 for the family. Will this be okay to use? if not what would be the differnce between all you professionals use vs. what I have at home for drinking water purposes?
Thank you so much in advance.

I have one of these.

I don't see a DI stage on that system, just RO. You could add a DI stage or just run the water for your tank through DI resin prior to using it in your tank.

Is the home unit in a place where you can use it for the tank?

There are some middle of the road units that don't cost an arm and a leg.

Thank you both for your responses. I will try to find a DI system to run from my tank. Which I hink would be cheaper way for me to go.
Now once my water is topped off into my tank, what should be my first water test that I should check for? What testing kit would you guys recommend?

YouTube text kit reviews from BRSTV and they cover ‘em all

Yes. I use a aquaticlife RO Buddie with the add on di filter and it does the job
