so i got my in line tds tester and my hand held tester today hooked it u to my ro/di unit and found some big problems all filters and everything our new(purchased and installed by myself) my water going in is 247ppm tds what is supposed to be my clean o tds water is 567ppm tds and what is supposed to be my waste water is o tds did somebody hook a house up wrong going into my resin canister. it is a coralife 50gpd rodi unit if that helps. dont have a manual so cant check out how the lines are supposed to be run

Yes. It's hooked up wrong.

It sounds like its labeled wrong. You're waste water will be higher and what does through your DI will be 0 until it runs out. Do you have pictures of how it is setup?

i dont have pictures but im going to re route the 2 lines that i thin might be mixed

I wouldn't run anything through the DI resign until you get this figured out. Just so you don't run any 500+ TDS through it and spend it quickly. Just unhook your DI and test that.

It actually sounds like you hooked up the TDS meter to the wrong lines..

anyways I think yours is the 2 stage one .. Pureflo 2 if i am thinking right..

Its should run.. inlet to Micron filter>Ro memebrane>carbon>outpute pure (for the good water..)
There will be a discard line off the RO membrane which goes to drain for discard.

I am not sure why you would want to know what the Discard TDS is but anyways

there should be 1 meter hooked up to inlet and one to Pure .. if you have a 3rd one it would be used for Post DI but you wouldnt have a DI resin your running through on that model, unless its been added after the fact.
I'll try to locate a manual online.

because the pure water was reading 567ppm tds and so i tested what the waste line was putting out 0 tds figured something was wrong

Any luck? It was hard for me to understand what you were saying. It seems that you have a dual inline TDS meter. One is hooked up to your pure water out line and the other is on your waste water that's going down the drain. Correct?

I can tell you from my RO membrane that there will be one in line and two out lines. Measure each out line and hook the one that's lower (~10-20 tds) to your DI and the other 500+ to the drain ( or water your flowers).

checked the diagram i have the one with 3 philters and not 2 ty for the hel though im just really ****** off right know that i did a 20% water change and put almost 600ppmtds water into my tank

That's understandable. Just mix more up and do another one tomorrow.

i took the 2 lines off and theres a check valve and now i dont remember where the check valve goes getting frustrated

I looked at mine and it has 2 one way valves. Both are on the lines leaving the RO membrane going towards the drain.

So I would assume you should put it on the waste line.

here is the link to the manual for the 3 stage filter.
Your dual inline TDS meter only needs to be on the inlet and RO out lines.
It should be really easy to tell which line is thed RO out.. it will run much less than the waste water out.
The waste line would fill your bucket in a few minutes vs the 2 gallons per hour you get out of the RO side.

i switched them around and know my waste line is flowing like a bandit but my ro line is putting out nothing frustrated at this point

Wouldn't it had been easy to just run the 0tds water to your bucket. No matter how it was labeled?

Or did I just have selective reading? ;)

so my last stage is slowly filling and will test to see what happens wish me luck

it wasnt going through the last filter process the water was rushing out my waste line on my membrane housing
