anyone have a suggestion for a cheap ro/di unit? I would like one that is going to produce 0 TDS. Thanks!

Those both look great, thank you. One more question, does type of return pump make a difference? Would a pond master work with saltwater?

If you're talking about a MAG Pond Master....they are a workhorse......not a problem at all. The only difference between a Pond Master and a "regular" MAG is the length of the cord. I use a MAG 9.5 as a return pump for my 90 gallon DT.

I second the Spectrapure Refurbished RO/DI , they don't get much better. I do not recommend MAG pumps though, there are much better choices today. Their design is decades old so they are not energy efficient, they are noisy and they run very hot. Really the only thing they have going for them is reliability. Several years ago I did a test of pumps on another reef forums and MAG was near the bottom, at the time Eheim, Ocean Runner and Sicce were much better choices. Today, years later, there are even better pumps which are more energy efficient, run smoother and cooler due to better, more modern designs and many are variable speed and controllable. If it were me I would do more research before buying.

Is the rodi link I posted not the same unit?
I thought it was the same but new.. With set of extra filters and other stuff for $35 more..

Yes, it is the same unit. This must be a new sale, first time I have seen it. My only reservation is the TDS EZ meter, it is not temperature compensated like the TDS-3, TDS-4TM or AP-1 which only cost $5 or so more. That is a heck of a deal though with a complete filter change kit and I really like they include the low range chlorine test kit to monitor your carbon block condition.
Good Find!

Well, @twilliard found it I think..
Pretty sure I saw him post it and was like man, wish that deal was around when I went to buy a unit..

I'll continue to research pumps then, see what else is available. My tank is in my office so I'm looking for a quiet pump. Pure water club has some great prices on there, they seem to be a pretty good deal. Thanks everyone for your help.

Pure Water Club units are very basic low end drinking water systems, nowhere near the same as Spectrapure, Buckeye Hydro, PurelyH2o and many other reef quality systems. Look at what is inside the unit, not the price. What seems like a good deal initially ends up costing you much more in the long run in upgrades to actually make it work and last as it should. They are cheap for a reason.
