I recently bought a 150 gpd 5 stage ro/di unit from fb marketplace and i finally got around to setting ut up. I started from scratch. I bought new hoses to b color coordinated and i got it up and running today. The inline tds meter is reading 009 and i have a hand help pen style tds meter that i put in my 50 gallon storage can and that is reading 000. Wich one should i go off?

Was it used and stored dry? Maybe its just dirty. If I use my handheld on tap water(340 tds) and don't rinse properly in clean(0 tds) water, it will read high next time I use it. Soaking it in clean(0tds) water for 20 minutes brings it back in line. Idk how to clean it more aggressively without damaging it- never needed to.

Also if you just set it up plan to burn the first 10-15 gallons off it. As for TDS, what is your tap water? I’ve never seen a freshly set up filter spit out mega-ohm water. I tend to believe the 9TDS number.

Where is the inline meter located? After the DI stage?

In the last pic, are the 2 canisters on the right d.i resin? If so it looks spent. Every brand I've used start off dark blue and turn brown when it's used up.

The second to last ik is color changing di resing. As for the very last one im not positive. Theres nothing on it saying what it is but it does have the same filter type as the di resing so im assuming so?

It looks like it. Did you replace all filters, membrane and di resin? Looks like a new sediment filter, how about the rest? What is your tap water tds?

My tds meter on my unit is saying 010 coming in and 009 out. And ok i will pick some up for my di this week.

If the tds meter on the unit is saying 009 and my hand held one says 000 for my storage water,do i have to dump all the product water out and start over after i get the new di media or can i still use the water in my storage container?

10 pre reverse osmosis membrane and 9 after? I thought I was lucky. Our tap water here is around 25-30TDS and that’s considered good.

That 10 is after the membranes(I think) and is good. Mine is typically between 11-17 tds. Ideally you want to only use 0tds water.

Using the handheld, check a cup of straight tap water. Out of curiosity. My city water sucks, 340tds

So my 50 gallons i just got over the past 2 days is all good to keep and use? I dont have to dump it and start collecting all over?

I let my tds, after resin, get to 30 before and did a icp on it, it was clean except silicates. Practically harmless in tank(it does fuel diatoms), some people douse silicates to tank
