For the past few weeks I have been having this issue, when the container is full float valve closes I am still getting water flowing out the waste pipe. I have changed out the shutoff valve (white square with 4 ports),adjusted the float valve as I thought it possible it was not sealing. Now I am stumped. Any suggestions......

is it installed correctly? the shutoff only works in 1 direction... also what is your water pressure? if there isn't enough its possible it might not be shutting it off completely...

It is installed correctly and there is sufficient water pressure. I will go through the system again probably over the weekend. System was working with no apparent problem and then this started.

probably the check valve coming out of the membrane.

Is the shutoff float valve on the clean RODI line only? The waste line won’t stop flow.

the auto shutoff valve is supposed to shut off the water.. it is inline with the product line and the supply line. when it senses back pressure on the product line it shuts the supply line off.... all bulkreefsupply units come with it installed.

do you have a picture or diagram of how its installed?

I contacted BRS just yesterday on this issue. My float valve stops all the flow on the output side, and i wasn't getting the waste (black) line to stop pouring. I was only testing this out for about 1-2 minutes. The BRS tech told me i should retest but give it a few more minutes (possibly up to 10) to build up back pressure as the DI canister will continue to fill and pressure will build. I'm going to try that this weekend and see if i have better results. Otherwise, it could be a faulty auto shut off valve, as it is supposed to turn off the supply water when the output line is blocked.

how long are you waiting for the waste to shut off
i thought the same thing on my BRS unit but the waste in my case shuts off about 2 minutes after the float stops the good water

The lower the water pressure that supplies the unit, the longer the auto shut off valve takes to activate. Check pressure.

If valve does not shut off at all, with a new one, my first guess is the auto shut is installed wrong.

Could be the check valve, as cromag suggests. Could replace, or check it’s working properly by hooking up supply water to unit backwards.

Thanks for all the replies. Waste water will shut off for a few minutes then starts up again sometimes in spurts. Show me a pic on the installation of shutoff,I am pretty sure I have it in correct but then again maybe not.
