I have a RO/DI, should I top of my 135 every time with DI or is RO fine, I seem to be topping of with about 3-4 gallons every couple days I have a canopy but no glass directly over tank or sump, should i ? To slow this down.
Thanks for any input

Hi Axle314,

You should top off with RO/DI water if you have it. During the warmer months, evaporation can increase. A gallon or two a day of evaporation is common, especially on a 135 gallon aquarium. Covering the tank can slow down evaporation, but can increase heat, restrict gas exchange (can affect pH), and as passion4reef said, it can restrict light if you don't keep the cover clean.
