Hello everyone

Have I just made a mistake?

I've just changed my sediment carbon and gac filter

I've taken the flow restrictor off and turned on the tap
I've got black water coming through the waste water line that has passed through the membrane
This is the first time I've changed the filter so not sure if I was meant to rinse the carbon filters before installing them
Have I just ruined my membrane?

I like to flush my system for 30 minutes after changing membranes then let it run for a while.

I haven't changed the membrane just the sediment carbon block and gac filter

I've got it running water through the waste line bypassing the DI pod
It's now clear water but was running black
Just concerned I've damaged the membrane

Do you have a flush lever on the ro unit? And do you have a tds meter?

No flush valve, I just disconnect the flow restrictor.
And yes have a TDS meter

I would look online on how to make a cheap flush valve super easy. I would run the ro unit for a while and you should be good to go.
