I just replaced my RO filters in my home unit to use for a water change. It is running on a pressurized 2 gallon reservoir.

How do I get the water to my mixing station? Can I just bypass the pressurized 2 gallon tank and let it fill my 55 gallon drum with a float valve to cut it off? Then hook it back up as normal when not mixing?

I’d like to be able to fill my drum occasionally but still keep my drinking water tank.

What about a t valve? One line goes to your mixing station with a float valve, and the other goes do your pressure tank. You'll just have to remember to switch the valve to whichever one you want the water to go to

I just turn off the valve to my pressure tank when making RO”DI” for the SW tank. You are going to want to ADD a DI stage to your home RO system for the SW tank water. RO will generally leave you with 6+ TDS and you want less than 2ppm. I will try to post some Picts. My home drinking water (RO) system feeds 2 fridge’s for drinking water and ice. Added DI stage when setup the SW tank.

something like this. Red is open it goes to DI resin for tank. Yellow is closed.
Yellow open it goes to pressure tank for drinking bypassing the DI part. Red is closed.
You would have to remember to open and close the correct valve.

Put in a switchable T so you can send water to either your mixing reservoir, or your pressurized storage for the drinking water. Then put in a check valve between the T and the pressurized tank so when your filling your mixing station water it doesn’t drain your pressure tank. Worked for me!

I have my pressure storage tank on a Tee between the RO and DI. I put a check valve in it so the RO can only refill the tank but nothing goes back the other way. The RO faucet is between the check valve and the tank. For refilling the reservoir any manual valve, float valve, or solenoid can turn it on and off.
