I am looking for a skimmer for a Waterbox 130 I have on order. I was originally planning on the Nyos 160 but heard a couple things about restarting the skimmer if you turn it off for feedings. I started looking into the Reef Octopus Regal 150SSS since it is at the same price point, has a DC pump, and a built in overflow cut-off sensor (and the ability to integrate with the Apex). Overall, they both seem like good skimmers but curious on any feedback regarding the Nyos feeding issue or any experience with the RO.

Either or, two high quality skimmers there, I am a Nyos user myself and I would never say Nyos all day but I do like mine.

For whatever reason people say Nyos are hard to tune, but this cannot be further from the truth, not in my experience anyway. Nyos being AC is not the quietest of Skimmers, but my 160 is not noisy. Last point, I have never had a problem with my skimmer starting and I turn it off to feed.

Thanks for the background on the feeding.,
