Do I have this RO set up correctly?
Yellow line is water in.
blue is RO water out.
orange is waste.
Is that correct?
The waste line produces a lot of waste. Like a lot.
Thanks

Water should flow from sediment filter, carbon filter, into the white tube up top which is the ro membrane, then back down to di resin and outputs water. There is also a waste line that goes out of the top tube.

You might have your lines reversed. How long have you tried to run it? You might have blown through the di resin and maybe the ro membrane.

I would also check but not change the lines between the canisters.

So the blue line on the right is coming out the 3rd filter. The water going in is the yellow line on the first left filter. The waste is the orange coming out the top. I can’t seem to get a straight answer on how to set this up.

The RO part looks right to me. Is the left canister a DI stage? If so, it should be last. Sediment -carbon -RO- DI is the correct flow order. Did you install a flow restrictor on the orange line? Waste should be 4 times the product.

I did not install a flow restrictor. I just dial the water pressure down some. Waste seems about 4 times. It’s crazy how much waste I lose. But I guess that’s normal. As for how the filters are plumped that’s how it came to me.

Do you have a photo of the back as well?

Generally most systems produce anywhere from 2-4x more waste then permeate water.

If you didn't install a flow restrictor and it didn't come pre-installed your going to need one.

Some systems can produce 1:1 as well just for further clarification.

The orange line is waste. So get a flow restrictor for the waste line?

The orange line is waste. So get a flow restrictor for the waste line?
Yes a flow restirctor is required for proper operation of the unit.

The size of your RO (GPD rating) will determine the proper flow restrictor.

I was given this so I’m not sure any of that. The guy was using it as is. He just took all the hoses off and said he didn’t remember how he had it setup. So that’s why I had to ask what lines go where.

It appears you have the lines incorrectly setup here, but not actually having physical access to the unit I can't say for certain as different manufacturers can setup housings different.

Generally the waste exits from the side with 1 connection, and feed water and permeate water enter/exit from the side with 2 connections.

It appears you have the flow setup backwards on the membrane housing based on your color coding.

Like I said your membrane may be different but most are setup as I mentioned above.
I know the color of lines isn’t correct.
orange is waste. Blue is RO and yellow is water in.
best guess on how to plump this or figure it out?

color doesn't matter as long as you know what they mean.

I just posted a setup diagram on how it should flow to the membrane.

You'll just a need a flow restrictor if it isn't installed in the waste line already. Some systems come with a capillary tube installed already within the line.

Where is the setup diagram?

I just looked at your photos again it appears to be connected properly, but again I'm not actually holding the unit so I can only see so much in the photos
