Here's the setup:

- 6 stage RO/DI unit with the standard pressure auto shut off valve
- RO unit has boost pump since I have low pressure well water
- RO water travels roughly 40 feet to my sump (water reservoir is a work in-process)
- Did it this way do to easier install of incoming water and sump pit access for waste water
- just install Avast ATO with pressure tube and back up float switch

Here's the good:

- Avast pressure tube shuts off the diaphragm pump

Here's the problem:

- The diaphragm pump shutting off causes enough back pressure to shut the RO boost pump off but water still trickles in
- With the water trickling in, it raises high enough to initiate the float switch but the water pressure still seems high enough to push a little bit of water through the float switch connection that keeps raising the water level

My thoughts:

I could install an electric solenoid shut off close to the sump that shuts off when the pressure tube is enacted but that won't do much good if the pressure tube fails since I can't trust the float switch.

Has anyone had this issue and come up with a solution?

Thanks!

Maybe.....
You could install a solenoid. Have it on a timer so it only open for a certain period of time. This way no water creep will happen if its closed.
