I need to buy a RO Unit. It becoming way too difficult to go to my LFS for water, with all my tanks

I was going to buy RO unit from BRS, but I have no idea what to buy. Also any suggestions as where the unit should go. Ideal would be my laundry room, as I have water supply and drain, but no room to store the water.

Would I be best to install it all in my garage and have a plumber run lines? I would I be best to just run a line from the laundry room to storage tank in the garage.

What type of storage tank can I get and how large? Can I put a heater in it?

Thanks for your time

The plumber might be a good idea, but it isn't necessary. When I need to make RODI I run my hose into the garage. I only have 190g or so of total water volume so I store up to 35g of salt water and 35g of RODI with my 2 containers. I only have to make RODI around once a month and I just let it run all day then coil the hose back up when it is full.

Make sure any storage tank you get is food grade or food grade safe. You have lots of options and yes, you can put a heater in them. You can make the system as elaborate as you want. I made mine as simple as possible where the RODI tank gravity drains into the SW tank or a bucket. The SW tank drains to a bucket. No pumps needed. Otherwise, you can make a complex system of pumps and hoses so you never need to use a bucket again.

As for what type of RODI unit, that depends on your water supply. If you have fairly clean city water and your water treatment plant doesn't use chloramines, you can get a 4 stage, 150gpd system. If you use well water or your local utility uses chloramine, you will want the 6 stage RODI system.

Here is my simple system with containers from my local tractor supply store.
