RO unit push fittings leaking

Cold water shouldn't slow it down that much.

For reference if I have "low" pressure around 40 psi and if I use cold water I can make 15-20 gallons in and afternoon with my 90GPD unit.

Did your unit come with those flow restrictor things? Mine came with 2 different ones. Also I think you might be able to rig up a valve so that you can tune your RO to get the optimal waste ratio after you verify what the issue is.

temperature should not affect flow rate that significantly, to result in less than 1 gallon in 7 hours... it's got to be your water pressure

That's got to be it. The return line is running down to the garage a decent distance as well.

Looks like I'm going to have to run a booster, but I'll check if I can find a gauge

Ok I stopped the leaks, but production is very poor right now. I'm trying to locate a pressure gauge I can use in a push fitting.

I also didn't read the fine print. Its off my washing machine cold supply and it says optimal temp is dang near what you'd keep your display at. I think my pressure is good, but I guarantee my temp is way under 77. I'm not sure if I can make this thing work the way I have it. I have probably 1/2" in a 5g bucket over the course of 7hrs. What's a brother got to do to get 240g's of ro to mix?? .90c per gallon at the store x 240g = $204

I don't remember having these issues last time I set up a more traditional rodi unit, but maybe I'm misremembering
Please contact us at [email protected] so we can help troubleshoot. You should be getting more filtered water production.

I'm at probably 1-2g after 18hrs def something up. Waiting on support.

Surely my pressure and temp can't big that bad. I'd get the pressure but I have to take everything apart to get a before membrane reading.

Does your RODI unit have a flow restrictor? Spectrapure units usually have a little tube that inserts intot he end of the waste water supply that you cut to length to adjust the pressure. There are also barrel tube flow restrictors that Aquatic Life uses on some of their units.

Someone mentioned it further up about marking the tubing, the tubing should insert around 5/8" into the fittings. So by making a mark on the tube prior to inserting you can know if its in completely.

Also a slight twist to the tubing when inserting can help too.

Did customer support get you taken care of. I looked today and did not see any open issues. Please let me know.

They asked exactly which unit it was and going from there

I got that part fixed. I don't think I pushed it in far enough the first go around

Quick update. New (free of charge)ro membrane and booster pump has me going. I've never been so happy to overflow a bucket in my life
