Hi! I just changed the filters and the RO on my BRS 6 stage water saver unit and it only seems to have RO water coming out now. Theres nothing coming out of the waste water line which is super weird.

Theres not even a trickle coming from the black waste water line. The TDS on my RO water is also super high at like 40-50 when its usually at 1o before the DI unit.

The PSI is also okay since I have a booster pump so its definitely not that.

How do i fix this?

Thank you!

Did you also replace the membrane?

Could it be in backwards?

Did if have end caps that are still on?

I replaced the membrane yesterday but I also ran the unit yesterday and it was working fine then. Its only when I ran the unit today that there seems to be no waste water coming out for some reason.

I installed the membranes correctly I think but i will be checking again right now.

Update:

I checked everything and its all installed correctly. Im thinking that maybe its the flush valve thats broken? When in the flush position, waste water comes out (lots of it) but when its back in the off position, zero waste water again.

I checked everything again and I think it might be the flow restrictor thats the problem. When i put it on the flush position, loads of waste water comes out but when its in the off position, only RO water comes out and zero waste. I tried removing the flow restrictor as well and in the off position, when you blow air through it, it doesnt even seem like air can pass through it?

I would contact BRS about the issue. Since they make the units in house, they should be able to trouble shoot over the phone and single out the issue. Since you stated your pressure is good and since you've narrowed it down to the flow restrictor, you're probably right in stating it is the issue, but better to be safe than sorry before ordering a bunch of parts you don't need.
