I think my next purchase is an RO unit. What units are people using? Do I have to keep the unit hooked and running all the time. If not how long does it take to make 5 gallons of water? Also is anyone has one for sale let me know?

We have the BRS 5 stage plus too. Jason attached it to the wall in the Laundry room , so I share the cold water outlet for the washer with the RO/DI unit. It comes with the TDS meter too. And very easy to replace the filters.

I use an Air Water Ice 5-stage unit I got during a group buy several years back. Great units with good support.

If I remember correctly (I've not made top off in a while), my unit took about 40 minutes to make 5g of top off.

You don't have to keep them connected all the time, but its certainly easiest to. I used to have mine in the laundry room, too. Now that we've moved into our new house, I'm planning on just tapping a cold water pipe in the crawlspace and running a line to my garage and keeping the RO/DI in there, which is also where my sump will be eventually.

Air water ice typhoon. Hands down best support out there.. i had issue with mine cause of a bad filter.. but they replaced it no questions asked and even sent me a new auto shut off valve just in case.. they have a lifetime warranty so anything goes wrong.. theyll take care of it..

Buckeye Field Supply is great to deal with also, Russ is a very stand up guy. I paid a bit more than a basic economy setup (I paid $224 shipped, versus some of the cheaper kits that are like $160-180), but it came with a TDS meter, automatic shutoff valve, check valve, float valve, pre-configured flush setup, pipe saddle valve (used a really under sink tap). I also accidentally ordered a flow nozzle that I didn't need. For less than $220, it's probably the most complete setup you can get for the price.

Russ is a vendor on here, and he has been great to work with, especially when I was getting into tanks 5-6 years ago and had a bunch of dumb questions before I ordered.

I am a SpectraPure man, 90gpd refurb unit with a pressure pump (70psi) running off of softened well water. Tds before membrane is 275ish, after membrane is a constant 10-11.
