RO upgrade comments

My lfs suggested to make these changes to my RO system. What do you guys think? His idea is based off the problem that we have super high TDS in mains water so to save up on DI resin we put in a secondary membrane. Also note that due to the high TDS membranes here will get 90% rejection rate at best.

Pressure going in RO: 1.5 Bar (21 psi)
Pump Pressure: 4 Bar (60 psi)
RO unit: Vyair RO-1 100gpd
Traingle: No-return valve
 
Not sure why you would but the pump between the 2 membranes. Pump should be after carbon #2 before rodi1, the waste from Ro1 Should feed ro2

That would be the water saver system which would give more water but even higher TDS approx 150 going in DI. The idea higher is to reduce DI consumption and not increase water production.

The issue is you won't get enough supply to run that pump it will literally be starving.

What is your tap tds? Have you looked at the spectrapure membranes some are 98/99 rejection

That is one of my concerns. He said it will not be an issue as the pump would be pulling water through RO #1 and pushing in RO #2 therefore they are in equilibrium + the pressurized tank helps in the first seconds the system is on. With this said I'm a software engineer not water engineer so I have no clue if this would work hehe
