RO vs RO/DI? Need help deciding.

No I didn't know that shipping and tax would be that high. I live in the US so shipping from BRS is free for me, and they haven't completely forced sales tax on online sales yet so I am still getting tax free for now.

It's mostly the exchange rate that really hurts, with shipping, taxes and duty fees it comes to $193.74 US. Add the ~30% for the exchange rate and your at $251.82 Canadian. And it doesn't come with a pressure gauge or Dual TDS meter so with those on top you're somewhere North of $300 CDN to get the same system as the Spectra pure for $261.02 (With free shipping) after the 13% tax she would have to pay being from ontario.

That is the cheaper version, I have the one with the pressure gauge and dual TDS which is $189.99. I haven't looked at the exchange rate for a while so I didn't know it was that large now. When I used to got up to Canada to play at Casino Niagra, before they legalized gambling in Pennsylvania, where I live, it was only like a 5 cent difference.

Yeah the exchange rate is a real kick in the pants. Was nice when it was even, things were DIRT cheap lol. So for the one with the TDS meter and gauge it works out to $336.23 CDN.

Ok everyone my turn to ask a question. BRS 4-stage or 5-stage. I have well water in western MT and am trying really hard to keep SPS. Every thing I'm reading is telling me to get a new RO system w/DI. I'm looking at the water saver model. Suggestions. Currently running 75 gal w/ 20gal refugium and want to upgrade this summer to 125 or 135 gal. We can always hope right:)

Joshh you could always come visit us in the states and purchase it and have it delivered to you hotel thus no duties, just as long you test it in your hotel room. Now it becomes a used piece of equipment........
