Hello

I am new into the hobby with a question regarding storage of RO water. If I store it in a sealed container such as a typical 5gl water jug, how long can I store the RO Water before I use it? Also, if I store it for a period of time assuming that the TDS was 0 at time of filling the container, will the TDS increase over a period of time even with the container sealed?

thanks

I’m not sure but here’s what I do. I mix 2 5 gallon buckets of ro and salt and another bucket of just rodi for top off. The two mixed buckets get used everyweek abs some of the fresh top off. Then I take the rest of what’s left of the fresh rodi and mix it in with the new water being made so that nothing goes to waiste

If it is 0 TDS when it’s put into storage, it will last quite a while if it’s sealed. There’s no particulates or matter in the water that will cause it to “spoil”

RO/DI water will last quite a while if it cannot absorb anything.
Dust particles and bacteria in the air and in/on the container will work there way in.
Water is a universal solvent.
I would use it even its its a month old, if sealed.
Vacuum sealed, then a year or more.

use water power head to keep water moving if its in a trash can style, if it is a in a secured screw on top with gasket will last for ever. ( that is: as long as nothing can get into the water or tank or bucket)
