I have a question about RO water. Is all Ro water the same. My boyfriend can get Ro water from work, they have as Ro system because that is what is run in all the machines. Would this RO water be good enough to use in my tank??

Not all RO systems are created equal. Many have different rejection rates on the membrane and also have different prefilters. Also RO water is not the same as RODI water as the DI stage removes the last of the impurities after passing through the RO. Reef tanks should have RODI water, however some RO only can work. Check the TDS with a handheld meter and see where it sits. Ideal is 0 TDS.

Stay away from the ebay vendors, you really do get what you pay for.
It is far cheaper and better to buy a good reef quality RO/DI from a reputable vendor and add a $59 drinking wate rkit than to buy an ebay quality system and upgrade it to real reef quality. I have been down that road myself and would never do it again.
