My eyes can't detect the subtle differences between 0.00 and 0.1 while using the Salifert kit. My Salifert phosphate always shows 0.00 to me, unless I dose, while my Checker will show 0.05.

Right on yeah it is kind of hard to discern and didnt realize it could be that much of a discrepancy. I've been shooting for just a detectable blue. Cant really say what it is other than not white but not .03 either.
I do like my hanna alk and cal checker as well. Think I'm going to have to pick one up!

First, I turned off the NoPox and my nitrates started to climb up slowly (but definitely increasing). I switched to a NYOS nitrate test and way easier to read, and now I'm guessing that without NoPox after a 15% water change my nitrates are 5-8 range. I'm going to test again and see how my nitrates are doing. I might leave NoPox off or start up but much lower amounts.

Second, I tested phosphates using a Salifert test, and I found the faintest amount of blue (had to hold it sideways against the card to just see the blue). So I have phosphates -- just super low. I'm now rationalizing buying the "right" Hanna checker.
