Hi everyone! Joined here in august I think and now I feel it's time to tell something about myself and my tanks both from the past and now.

My name is as stated Robin, born in the hottest summer of Sweden in june 94'. It didn't rain in Stockholm for about three months and my mom use to tell me that she had to stand by the fridge in the kitchen with me since it was so hot everywhere. Maybe that's why I ended up having a huge interest of the tropics and all the species that they inhabit haha!

I started my hobby around 10 years ago with a simple freshwater aquarium, as most people tend to do. I did have some fishes already at the age of five, and I remember at around the age of 13 how fascinated I was about waterlife back then already. So I started up for real at the age of 13 with some goldfishes, anubias plants and gravel. I literally sucked in knowledge and just a year or two later I had lots of fishes in 4 different aquariums with most of them coming from south america. I started to collect different species from Loricarridae and Corydoras. I watched how cichlids roamed around and got babies and I started to get an abnormal interest in freshwater plants.

This turned later on into an interest in marine life, and though it was an expensive purchase for a mere student, I'd gather all the money I could find and then purchased a pre-owned clown hotel. To this I bought two Ocellaris clowns, two hermit crabs and some snails. I also went and buy an Euphyllia and Xenia and I was amazed to see how much life that emersed from the live rock, and how well the Xenia took over my tank within two months. In that moment I was completely sold out to marine life and saltwater tanks.

Then I had three different main tanks through some years with great success. I read about everything and felt like I once did with the goldfishes years before. There was and still are so much more information and knowledge that you could barely know everything and that amazes me. I am still not sure after 6 years if I am a beginner at this or not since there is always something new popping up from nowhere. That's what makes this hobby so fun and interesting. You're never done, and I like that!

When I turned 20 I moved to my own apartment and had a break from aquariums for about a year and a half. It felt really strange to not hear powerheads and a small dripping sound from the circulation of the water surface when you where about to go to sleep at night. So this summer I thought now is enough with that and I purchased myself a red sea reefer 170 which I now have some fishes, sps:es, lps:es, snails and hermits inhabiting it. Wow you just don't really know how much you have missed the blue lights until they do comeback! Im really happy to be back and now I will do my best in keeping a saltwater tank once again.

Peace out

/Robin

Welcome to R2R Robin. Great looking tank.

Welcome to R2R :) I love the scape of your tank. Very minimal and clean looking. Can't wait to hear more about it

Thank you all for all the warm words and welcoming once again! I will try tonight to get some time to make a thread that tells more about the tank and my ideas on how to make it even better in the future. I like a very clean look on aquariums, and I try my best in keeping everything hidden for the eyes of the viewer :)
