who got to see the RoboSnail in action at MACNA? what's your take? very interested to hear from yah.

Thanks.

I saw that and my only reaction was I would never leave that on my tank in fears of something getting stuck in it and it "robotically" scratching your entire tank while you weren't home. It takes me one minute to do my tank with my magnet and I actually enjoy it.

Yeah I saw it. It's neat but I would not use one.

:hammer:

I agree. I don't mind cleaning the glass every few days. :)

I unfortunately didn't get to see it in action, but I have read up on it and seen some videos of it in action...

I think is a great idea, but with all great ideas there is always room for improvement. I am under the understanding it has sensors to stop it from hitting the sand, which would leave you with that space it misses for manual cleaning, but also has less chance to scratch. For a 6 foot tank like mine I would never consider one as it is quick to clean my glass manually, but for a larger tank or commercial tank I think it would be awesome. Have the thing turn on at night and clean when no one is watching. Other than novelty factor I believe the market is not the average hobbiest. It should be marketed to both commercial tanks and people who tend to be lazy on their glass cleaning..

We saw it and it also might have issues with larger fish, the sensors on it cause it to stop if pushed on hard, and if a tang nips or foxface bites it the pressure will stop it, it then resumes but the start up leaves streaks. Not really a fan of the streaks. Everyone above has it correct about the fear of glass scratching also
