Rob's 450g Build Thread!

Looks sharp

PVC bottom? I'm surprised you don't need a top euro also with the 48" width.
Yes, the way Crystal Dynamics designed my tank to be able to not use any top bracing was to overbuild the bottom.

From bottom to top.
1 layer of PVC
3 layers of floating glass
1 layer of PVC
Euro Braced bottom.
Corner reinforcement

Wow. So is that 26" tall the outside dim? How much height is left inside the tank with that arrangement?

2 feet, find it perfect. My 300g DD was 27" found it a little tall. And now with my tank being the size it is, the current height is perfect for fragging and reaching for things in the center of the tank.

This is fantastic. keep going and going . . . . . . . . .. .

Its 84x48x26"
I wish mine had been only 26” deep. In addition to the depth, my stand was about 48” tall. Between the two, I had to have a very tall ladder to get in it at all. If I were o do it all over, it would be about the same dimensions as yours with a lower stand.

Yours is quite beautiful!

That's a nice wall !! Use it
