Rob's Cube build

Nice build rob :) i can't wait for more pictures :D

Thanks. I've been busy tearing down the old tank the past week so I haven't had a lot of time to work on the tank until this weekend. I worked on getting the canopy finished this weekend. I still need to do a few things before I can rehang it, but the bulk of it is done. Anyway here's a look at the nearly complete canopy.

Here's a few more pics after I got things rehung. Still a few things to finish up before I finally put a finish coat on it, but getting closer.

Stand is finished. Just need to finish up the stain and get a finish coat on it. Ran out of the dark stain I was using and will be picking some up this afternoon. I'm hoping to be able to start on the finish this weekend.

Looks really well done. That was your first stand build? impressive! I love the stain color you chose - will really make the tank stand out.

Nice stand. I will definitely make my next stand

Thanks. Yep, first one. I did a lot of research on the framing before I built it. Once you have a strong frame the rest is just a matter of making it look nice. My choice in stain was very risky. Most professionals won't stain the same piece of wood two different colors because of bleed through. They will usually use inlays. It was a learning experience. Especially the veneer. I wanted something a little different so I played around with different techniques to create the look with the stain.

I received some very exciting news today from Felix at Reef Savvy. My tank should be shipping next Friday for delivery the following week. Also I received another new toy for the tank today. Once the fuge light ships which if it's finished on time should be next week I'll have everything I need to finish things up and get some leak testing and so forth done after I purchase the plumbing supplies and an ATO pump.

I pretty much had my sump built around this thing and I couldn't be more pleased with the fit. Receiving the skimmer today was definitely a moment of truth and Rick definitely knocked it out of the park. Many thanks to Rick at Synergy Reef Systems for the great customer service and craftsmanship.

Anyone know if BM or anyone makes a neck cleaner for these? I did see some for the larger model BM skimmers, but haven't done much research. I wasn't sure if I would have room, but I'm wondering if I do at this point. It would be a great addition.

I'm using a swabbie on my RLSS skimmer. I did the you built kit and I'm really happy with it.

I haven't taken the cup apart yet and looked at it closely. I just assembled the main body and placed it in the sump to get a visual on the fit. Where did you get the kit? Is it a kit made by RLSS?
