Is there a reason I should use aquascaping mortar over the far cheaper aragocrete (aragonite and portland cement)?

looking at prices, cement and a bag of sand are $15 total. Where mortar is $45. It'll be used to bind rocks together, and I have time to soak away anything that may swing ph. so whhy spend 3x?

As long as you soak you should be fine.. super glue gel and sand works great also! It’s actually pretty amazing just how strong it is! My buddy made a full structure with just gel and sand and can pick it up without supporting it..

Super glue and sand is another option as well.

superglue was a thought, but also more expensive than cement for a whole scape. at least the gel stuff, even from the dollar store.
